Wild deodorant is sold in New Zealand now. Since August 2026 it has been on the shelf at Chemist Warehouse and Woolworths: the case with its first refill costs $25.99 to $27.99 and a 40g refill is $9.49 to $9.99. Ordering direct means Wild's Australian store, A$7.99 delivery and a wait of up to three weeks. The formula on NZ shelves contains baking soda. The NZ-made alternative, bodi, doesn't.
Until this winter, buying Wild in New Zealand meant a UK parcel, a currency conversion and a shipping charge that cost more than the deodorant. Then Unilever, which bought Wild in 2025, put it into Chemist Warehouse and Woolworths and ran ads for it here. If you've seen the aluminium case on a shelf and wondered what it costs, what's in it and whether there's a local option, this is the rundown.

The scents on NZ shelves right now are Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt, Coconut & Vanilla, Pink Grapefruit & Lime and a honey and cactus flower one that the two retailers label slightly differently. Wild's full range online is wider than that.
What a year costs
Wild says a refill lasts four to six weeks. Ours lasts about a month with everyday use. Both are 40g, so call it a refill a month and compare like with like.

On refills alone, Wild is cheaper. Roughly $25 a year cheaper against our subscription price, and a lot cheaper if you buy bodi one refill at a time. That's the number, and we'd rather you had it from us than worked it out at the till. What the difference buys you is further down.
What's in the Wild you can buy here
Familiar actives, plus baking soda.
The Chemist Warehouse listing for the Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt case prints the full ingredient list, and it's closer to ours than you might expect. Tapioca starch for moisture. Triethyl citrate, magnesium hydroxide and zinc ricinoleate working on odour. Then, fourth on the list, sodium bicarbonate.
Bicarb is a decent odour active. It's also the usual reason natural deodorant gives people a rash, because it sits at about pH 8 to 9 against skin that sits at about pH 5. Wild sells a bicarb-free Sensitive range in the UK. We couldn't find it on either NZ retailer's shelves when we looked, so what you can buy here is the standard formula.
Wild describes the formula as 98% natural origin and says it protects for 24 hours. We don't make duration claims in our own voice, so we'll leave that one to your afternoon. If you've reacted to a natural deodorant before, the bicarb explanation is here.
The case, and the twist
Wild's case is aluminium, comes in a lot of colours, and is most of the reason the brand looks the way it does on a shelf. It feels good in the hand and it's the thing people buy as a gift. Fair play.
To refill it, you twist the case all the way down, pull off the base, sit the new refill on the base and push the body back over it. That's Wild's own instruction. The complaint that comes up most in Wild reviews is the twist jamming or a refill getting stuck part way, often enough that Wild's help centre covers it.
bodi's case is soft-touch recycled plastic with two release buttons on the side. Cap off. Press the buttons. The empty pod comes out and the new one clicks in. You still twist to raise the product, but the swap itself has nothing to jam. The refill, step by step.

bodi is made in New Zealand by the two of us, and it took 39 batches at the kitchen table. It's bicarb-free in every scent rather than in a separate sensitive line, so the gentle one is the normal one. Three actives work on odour (magnesium hydroxide, triethyl citrate and zinc ricinoleate), tapioca starch helps you feel drier, and the actives are included at clinically tested levels.
The case is $15 and you keep it for good. The refills are paper and home compostable, confirmed by our supplier.
